I help people connect to their personal source of wellbeing.
My strength is understanding wisdom traditions— deep sources of knowledge that guide harmonious and sustainable living— and blending that knowledge with modern, evidence-based practices to support wellbeing in body, mind and spirit. My mission is to share the wisdom of Ayurveda as a path to whole person health and to walk alongside those seeking a balanced, meaningful and vibrant life.
I ground everything I teach in personal experience, coming from 15 years of study, practice and inquiry into the benefits of yoga and Ayurveda, as well as academic training from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health, the Earl E. Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing, the Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda, and the University of Virginia Contemplative Sciences Center.
I aspire and struggle to pursue wellbeing in my own life, which brings authenticity and a depth of wisdom to my work.

Ayurveda: “ayu”= life “veda”= knowledge
Ayurveda is the five thousand year old Vedic “science of life” and traditional natural healing system of India. According to Ayurveda: A healthy person is “one who is established in Self, who has balanced constitution and well functioning bodily processes, and whose mind, soul, and senses are full of bliss.”
The goal of Ayurveda is to understand your unique mind-body constitution and use diet and lifestyle modification to maintain balance and correct imbalance due to internal or external causes. Ayurveda is a wise and useful system to live a balanced, healthy life in our modern, chaotic, fast-paced world.
My favorite explanation of Ayurveda's power is also one of the oldest:
"It is called Ayurveda because it tells us which substances, qualities and actions are life enhancing, and which are not." from the Caraka Samhita c. 150-100 CE
I was introduced to the healing power of Ayurveda during a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Sarita Shrestha— the “Mother of Ayurveda” in the West in 2014. Dr. Shrestha is renowned as Nepal’s first Ayurvedic OB/GYN and founder-director of Devi Ma Kunja Ayurvedic Hospital in Sidapole, Nepal. Dr. Shrestha’s insight into my Prakruti (nature, constitution), Vikruti (imbalances) and her Ayurvedic lifestyle plan turned around persistent health issues I had suffered from for years, and showed me the truth of the mind-body-spirit connection. Through Ayurveda, I returned to my natural state of clarity, balance, and physical health. I spent 14 months living at the Mount Madonna Center— healing, studying yoga and Ayurveda, and apprenticing at Ayurveda World Herbs. I later went on to study formally at the University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing, The University of Virginia Contemplative Sciences Center and the Mount Madonna Institute College of Ayurveda, where I graduated as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor in 2020 and Ayurvedic Practitioner in 2023. I believe health is our natural state and health issues are obstacles that can be removed with awareness and action. My goal as an Ayurvedic Health Counselor is to embody the vast and deep wisdom of Ayurveda while sharing the knowledge with others to find their own version of health and human flourishing.
"Ayurveda is for freeing the mind which is trapped in the body. Yoga is for freeing the soul which is trapped in the mind.
